The hottest toys this year are Webkinz . But what are Webkinz I hear you ask? Well, Webkinz are Stuffed Toys, but with a difference. The reason Webkinz are special is that each one comes with its own unique code that lets you gain access to Webkinz World. This is a website that enables you to experience a wide range of interactive adventures using an online version of your individual Webkinz pet. There is also a range of min-Webkinz available, called “Lil Kinz” , they are smaller in size and cheaper in price. Webkinz are so much fun, not only because they look really cute and come in a huge range of designs, but because the virtual pet element really brings them to life.
Expect to pay around the $15 for a full-sized Webkinz, while the Lil Kinz cost around $10. As I said, the thing that makes them extra special is the tag that you find attached to their paw (or hand, or hoof, you know) When you open this tag, you get a special code which enables you to log into the Webkinz website. The fun really begins once you’ve created your account though. The first thing you will notice is that you have actually earned some money! Well, virtual cash at any rate – 2000 Kinz cash to be exact. Kinz cash is the online currency used in Webkinz World, and, just like in real life theres lots of things that you can spend it on. For example, you can decorate your room, buy cool, funky clothing or you can even go to the Webkinz Academy and pay for classes to make your pet smarter. You also get a bunch of free gifts, virtual ones that is, when you sign up.
Kids love Webkinz, of course, but adults adore them as well. Every so often certain Webkinz are retired and this, of course, makes them highly collectible. Just like Ty Beanies were the big collectible toy of the 90’s, so Webkinz have claimed their spot at the top of the collectibles charts. There are literally hundreds of kinds to choose from, and new ones are being brought out all of the time. The fun doesn’t stop there though, you can also get Webkinz Clothes, bags, hats, and Charms. Ah yes, Webkinz Charms! With these charms you can unlock the Magical Charm Forest and hunt for virtual charms, or win additional kinz cash, secret food recipes and so many more amazing prizes!
